La nouvelle peinture allemande
11.05 > 18.09.2005
Beyond monographs presented punctually in France in recent years, this exhibition wished to account for bubbling that occupies the front of the artistic scene. Marked by the rapid succession of generations - all artists born between 1953 and 1975 - with some links from attending "master", the German scene, in recent history, is built around new centers: Dresden, Leipzig, Hamburg, and a rule reaffirmed Berlin as the capital, both as a place of activity for artists as the seat of new galleries.
Exhibited artists: Franz Ackermann, Werner Büttner, André Butzer, Tim Eitel, Valérie Favre, Eberhard Havekost, Andreas Hofer, Martin Kippenberger, Michel Majerus, Jonathan Meese, Albert Oehlen, Anselm Reyle, Daniel Richter, Markus Selg, Dirk Skreber, Matthias Weischer, Johannes Wohnseifer, Ralf Ziervogel
