For over twenty years, the American contemporary artist Mark Dion explores the intersections between art and science, visions and production of knowledge, collection and presentation modes. Mark Dion explores the museum as a metaphor for common knowledge. The project was developed in five different sections that met the principal divisions of scientific knowledge as proposed in the 19th century in the museums of Natural History: Human Sciences Department, entomology, archeology, ornithology, mammalogy. A sixth chapter focused on museums and culture of the collection. In each appointment, the artist completed his work with examples of local natural history collections.
